First Game with Slaughterhousers and Targ

"What a mess!"

Played a game of Warmachine/Hordes after some months only playing Firestorm Armada. I wanted to test my Slaughterhousers and Targ which haven’t been on the battlefield before. The Slaughterhousers were an epic fail, dying in the first two rounds by massive Cryx spells and shooting and doing nothing else. Targ was rather useful with his Auxillary Attack on my Gunboar. Actually the list I (mainly, 2 on 2 game) faced was pretty tough with eSkarre, Deathjack, full Revenant Crew and stuff. In the end I lost by caster kill without doing that much damage even with Lord Carver’s feat.

Minions & Mercs vs Trolls – Battle Report

This will be the first battle report with my Farrows participating. I played a nice game this week with three friends of mine. We paired up Mercs (Searforge) and Minions (Thornfall) against Trolls (with 2 players). Each player had 35 points to spend. After throwing the dice our Mercminion side got the starting turn.

As the game happened some days ago and I probably can’t remember every fine detail, I will spare some words and instead post many pictures. This is the setup of our side:

4 player mayhem: short ones vs an unholy alliance

And now for a picture heavy battle report of a game played yesterday in my friend’s gaming room (compare last battle report). I wasn’t involved in playing so I had funĀ as a spectator, drank some beer and made some pictures.

As you might wonder what strange mix of factions and contracts they were pairing up: Yes, that is not in the rules! But we in our gaming group often do fun games like this, were the flaws in game balance are lavishly ignored. This team games speed up the game a little, as two players can make synchronous activations as long as there aren’t occuring any conflicts.

So here are the played lists, as far as I can figure out from the pictures and my memories.

(here are 2 points missing, but I can’t find any model fitting on the pics)

I was a little late, so this first picture has been taken after the first round. (Menoth/Cygnar was starting the game)

The Daughters are close to the table edge just below the camera and the Reclaimer is hiding behind the house with the Choir. You can see the tip of Kara’s gun in the bottom right corner of the picture.

During the second Menoth/Cygnar turn some serious damage was done to the dwarfs as illustrated in the next picture. The reason for this was the sheer firepower of the ranged Cygnar ‘jacks in Kara’s feat round.

The Protectorate destroyed some Assasins on the other flanks by throwing firebombs.

On the next picture the nice haircolour of some of the Daughters can be seen while one engages the remaining Forgeguard.

After that turn the short ones took bitter revenge for their fallen companions and after some slamming and throwing action the center of the battlefield looked like this:

Unfortunately the damage output wasn’t enough to destroy any of the Cygnar ‘jacks and the next turn offered perspectives for killing one of the dwarven casters. The Protectorate tried an uphill slam. (Even if it doesn’t look like, we usually treat this hill as open terrain with elevation.)

After losing more and more modells, with the dwarven casters heavily injured and the casters of the unholy alliance hiding behind ash clouds and a house, the Mercenary players decided to quit the game and rather have fun with some Warmahordes chat and drinking beer ;).
